I read The Goat in 2002 when it won the Tony Award for Best Play. I was riveted by its unflinching look at what happens when dark secrets come to light. Decades go by, Shotgun has auditions, and suddenly I’m in a coffee shop with the director, Kevin Clarke, hearing about his vision for the show and I’m even more riveted. This was one of the hardest emotional journeys to make night after night, but also one of the most artistically rewarding.
